I arrived in Minnesota last night and despite a very comfy bed in my sister’s house, I didn’t sleep well. The time change threw me, ironically, more than any of my recent changes between Hawaii and NY, and when morning came around I felt completely unrested. We trooped through the cold to breakfast and ate a hearty meal before the girls went to work. I found myself a local YMCA and decided to test out the bus system. The Metro Transit was easy to use and I arrived at the Skyway YMCA in less than 15 minutes. The gym was a little tricky to find and I must have looked lost, as the men getting off the elevator directed me to the 3rd floor. My “Away” YMCA pass got me in, without even signing a form, and the bath towels were free of charge! The workout area was small but sufficient and it had exercise balls, an exercise disc and a foam roller- all I needed for my compete core workout. The pool was spacious and empty and the hot tub, although too hot for my taste, felt good before I swam.
1/2 mile swim (the pool is about 28 yds long so I counted in lengths today)
8 lengths warm up mixed stroke
8 lengths free, L4, RI:30
8 lengths free, L6, RI:30
8 lengths cool down mixed strokes
